The Oromo Evangelical Church of Calgary (OECC) is the Church of Jesus Christ who is fully committed with fervent and enthusiasm to preach and teach the gospel of reconciliation to all nations and nationalities with the intention to make them know the Triune God, turn to Him, receive the forgiveness of sin and inherit eternal life through the faith in Jesus Christ. The OECC dedicates itself to bear witness to the Christian faith in its fullness and purity through the faithful ministry of the Word and the Sacrament, abiding to the authority of the Scripture, and guiding her believers/members to live holy and obedient Christian life in the Spirit and Christian Ethics.
The OECC reaches out to the new immigrants, especially those from Oromo background, through her interaction with people from different part of the glob. The Church seeks to assist the immigrants adapt to life in Canada and provide them a place where they can come together with people. Based on the Word of God, the OECC shall stand with the poor, powerless and voiceless to advocate for peace and justice.
